President, CIPS Saskatchewan
Daryle was the Project Manager for the CIPS Saskatchewan,our provincial association, that was successful in getting the legislation passed about our Information Systems Professional of Canada (I.S.P.) designation. In this role, Daryl has the responsibility of having the I.S.P. recognized through legislation as a professional designation within Saskatchewan.
Daryle dedicated the time and energy required to move the I.S.P. legislation forward in the face of little or no road map or established process. It was passed by the Saskatchewan Legislature in June 2005.
As a reminder, the advancement of I.S.P. in Saskatchewan with formal legislation institutionalizes the following:
- Administer the legislation or regulation that enables the self-regulating professional body (I.S.P.);
- Evaluate and certify qualified I.S.P. applicants (delegated to the Certification Council);
- Hear formal complaints against, and discipline Members, as the need arises;
- Administer the I.S.P. of Canada designation within the province of Saskatchewan;
- Promote the I.S.P. and professional practice within the provincial IT industry;
- Develop and maintain national certification standards through Membership in the Certification Council.
In Daryle's role as Project Manager for and now President of CIPS Saskatchewan, he has had to dedicate personal time to ensure this is all successful.
