Women in the Information Technology Workforce

"Only one quarter of the Canadian IT workforce is female and this percentage is shrinking," (Computing Canada, Volume 26, Issue 22, p.29).

CIPS would like to help reverse this trend by changing the negative perception teenage girls have about a career in Information Technology (IT) through educational programs and activities that focus on the benefits of IT careers; to increase the number of female high school students enrolling in math and science and considering a career in IT.
